Based on a lot of your emails over the past few months (most of my readers are through RSS email… some 9,000 a day) I’ve tried to be a little more optimistic with my outlook on the coming days, weeks and months ahead. But I gotta tell ya… it’s a damn mess out there right now.
Let’s put it into perspective.
1) Obamacare is a disaster that will cripple the nation, and even its biggest supporters are now starting to see the light.
2) The President is acting like a king, taking our troops into a bizarre war with no end in sight. To make matters worse, much worse, Obama is about to hand over our military operations to an international “committee.”
Let me say that again… the U.S. President is about to hand over our military operations to an international political committee.
3) The economy, which is already close to being in shambles, is about to be rocked even harder.
4) Domestic economic terrorism is happening right before our eyes, and the Department of Justice won’t even acknowledge the situation, much less make a case against the terrorists.
5) World economies are collapsing and most of us don’t even know it.
6) The FBI is basically giving the final wave goodbye to any bit of privacy we have left.
7) Homeland Security ensures privacy and rights no longer exist at public/private functions… such as NCAA sporting events.
8 ) Oil costs are rising, gas prices are skyrocketing, and it’s just going to continue getting worse.
9) We could be drilling for oil here in America, but our President would prefer not to. Instead, he believes we should loan other countries the money to drill for their own oil, so we can eventually buy it from them.
10) Peaceful tea party Americans show up with signs and voice their frustrations, and in doing so are labeled racists. Yet, groups like La Raza spew hatred in the streets every day and there isn’t a word muttered about it.
11) If Mexico or Canada ever fired 50 rockets over the border in a day, we would be inclined to immediately declare war against them and open an unmistakable can of “you’re about to regret that” in retaliation. Yet Israel is constantly dealing with this and not only does the world turn and look the other way, most of the world condemns their defensive response!
So to Tim Pawlenty and the rest of the 2012 candidates, to my fellow tea party activists, to my family and friends, and to all of you elected to protect our rights and liberty as free Americans I ask…
…WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?
Update: I feel much better now that I know Senator Harry Reid and some of his ilk in the Senate are working hard to… kill an iPhone app they don’t like.

I just want to add a ditto to what Crystal said. All of this is mind boggling and twilight zonish.
Why are political groups even trying to recruit this ravel for voting public. This is the product of our politically correct culture. This group is not politically correct and should be called out as the race that produced it. I will call it out. They do not have the right to decide my future………. This is what the administration considers Young Americans. He is an idiot and he is destroying America according to a planned communist socialist agenda. No regard for the constitution or forefathers that gave us a proper and just America. Please, America, make him and his ilk go away, lest America goes away any further.
With one third of our nation on the dole let’s revisit the concept of taxpayer voting. This underclass is a giant vote purchase, of course they will always vote for the person and party that promises to give them more. People with no skin in the game should not be able to vote. I think the time has come to institute some type of voter regulation, where you would have to prove you paid either Income Tax or Property Tax in order to vote. Bring some type of tax bill to the polling place, it’s only fair. Why should people who have invested nothing into our country get to decide how our money is spent, and who will spend it. Kind of the same as the Unions giving huge donations to candidates, then demanding repayment in negotiations. It should be illegal for public sector unions to contribute to political campaigns.
WCTI-TV in New Bern reports 2200 Marines, assigned to the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) at Camp Lejuene, are “preserving the sanctity of the city [of Ajdubiyah] and the safety of the civilians within it.”
The U.S. Marines are not protectors of Libyans!!!!
There is no congressional approval for this action and I demanded from my Senators and Representative that our troops be removed from Libya now!
What the hell is going on???
This is so frustrating that I limit my intake of news and politics each day. It is so depressing to me since I fear for the worst.
Obama pledged to stop the wars (two of ‘em.) Instead… he starts a third! That was his only redeeming campaign pledge, and look what he goes and does.
Aside, I recently registered as a FL tea party voter!
Not only that – Obama has a “strange” way of deciding who is the baaaaad dictator. What happened when the people rioted in the streets at the last Iran vote – he turned his face from it!!
Another thing in all of this – he is basing going into Libya and using OUR military force on the United Nations decision. The UNITED NATIONS??? The most corrupt outfit around! In addition, he has pushed the SALT treaty and given RUSSIA power over the weapons for the world. We all know it is Russia that is helping to fund and get nuclear power to Iran. How stupid can America be?

As a people, Americans are the most opportunistic individuals on the planet. Many people would gladly profiteer from their mother’s funeral, if they could think of a way to conveniently do it. And so it is now, with all of the problems that this country is facing, there are opportunists at every turn, trying to make a buck off the worries and concerns of the American citizen. Along with you, Michelle Bachman, the AFA, the NRA, Ken Cuccinelli, and dozens of congressmen, senators and wannabes are daily contacting me to get answers to a survey. In it of course, they ask for a donation for their good cause. It amazes me how Americans can see a profit opportunity in every calamity, and rush to capitalize on the fears and tragedies of their fellow citizens. I know we are in trouble, and I also know that we cannot escape further escalation through groups like yours because the average American has been so systematically dumbed down that you can spit in their faces, and they call it “dew” and thank you. If over 50% of Americans voted for Obama, it is a crystal clear indication that at least half the population is dumb as can possibly be. How can my contributions to your cause and the cause of a few hundred others (all of them good, of course) change Mr. & Mrs stupid to understand that socialism does not work and that there is no free lunch? So please leave me alone and go make your money elsewhere.
@Peter, you could really make this much easier than you make it appear to be. It’s called free will.
You come to my blog, via an email, a link, or whatever method you used, and you tell me to “leave you alone?”
Either unsubscribe or never visit the blog again. If by reading my blog you feel I’m intruding on you, how on earth can I possibly “leave you alone?”
You choose to make your living your way, I’ll choose mine. Those who support me do so because of the information I provide and the updates on action I alert them to. They support me knowing full well why and how they are doing so.
There is nothing tricky about this. It’s called Capitalism and it works really well.
And who are you to make “free lunch” comments here? I’ve spent thousands of hours working in this movement. I’ve volunteered more of my time than I can count for various groups and campaigns.
You might see “free lunch” in various realms of politics, but you won’t find it in my corner. So please, do me a favor and save your insults for those actually deserving of them.

Dude, just say “no”, but don’t throw the baby out with the bathwater. I receive many emails from causes and groups that I subscribed to so that I can have many different viewpoints with which to make my judgements on what’s going on in the country today. Frankly, this stuff keeps me up at night – literally. At the same time, I realize that these people, while working tirelessly to spread what otherwise would be swept under the rug bythe MSM, need to put gas in their cars, food on the table, and keep the lights on at home. Simply put, “The worker is worth his wage.”
That’s all most of these groups are asking for; their just due, a wage, a little something to keep the fires of liberty burning. If you think otherwise, the answer is easy; unsubscribe. But then you run the risk of becoming one of those whose lack of decently exposed brain matter got us into this mess by voting for Obama, Reid, Pelosi, et al.
Eric, you’re awesome. You’re doing a great job and I wish I could give you all the Washingtons, Lincolns, Jacksons, Grants and Benjamins you ever needed or wanted!!!
I too get tired of all the surveys and requests for contributions. I may or may not complete the survey, but I never contribute. Frankly, I don’t have any extra money left over for “causes.”
I will however say one thing, if you and I didn’t receive information on the side as to what is really going on, we would have only what the news media is putting out. And therein lies the benefit of these organizations you’re talking about. There are so many incidious, sneaky, underhanded organizations out there that are brainwashing those they know are only basing an opinion on what they read or hear in the news. Frankly, that’s why we have the President we have in office.
I have said from the very beginning that Obama’s goal is to “remake” America and sadly, he is being very successful in that America is quickly becoming unrecognizable. He was being truthful when he said right after the elections in 2008, “…the change begins now!”. This country has been duped by a few “Ugly Americans” who have somehow managed to change the entire landscape in this country and have deftly and cunningly appealed to people, of all races, ethnicities and social standing to the point that like lemmings jumping off the cliff, we believed he meant change that was GOOD and POSITIVE things for America, so we followed, blindly.”
If there is anything left of the American Spirit, oh do we need it now. I do not believe that this man loves America. I believe that in his heart of hearts he hates America, what America stands for and wants to in one massive cataclysm destroy what took generations to build. On his tombstone will be written: “Barack Hussein Obama, President of the former United States. He brought a once powerful and proud nation to its knees. Under the guise of being a Christian, he secretly fanned the flames of religious conflict and brought radical Islam to our shores for the sole purpose of challenging and ultimately defeating the long standing Judeo-Christian beliefs of a once God fearing nation. He successfully subverted the Constitution of our land to the point that laws became meaningless, individual rights trashed and the pursuit of happiness an unreachable and meaningless goal.”
There might be time to turn things around, but that time is rapidly running out. WAKE UP AMERICA! WE HAVE MET THE ENEMY OF ALL WE HOLD DEAR. HE LIVES AMONG US.
I agree with Gary W., the #9 reply. I truely believe that Obama is not out for change, but to destroy the USA. Guess what? He’s well on his way!!! To start at what should have been the beginning, how can we have a president of our country that can’t even prove he’s a US born citizen? How stupid are we as a country to even let this happen? We let him run for office, then we vote him in (I didn’t, but we meaning the country), now he’s taken it upon himself to make decisions all by himself to not follow the laws because HE SAYS it’s unconstitutional (about marriage). Now there are Democrats and Republicans saying he was suppose to come before congress before making any military decisions. Wasn’t our Constitution written to protect us from say DICTATORS? Shouldn’t there be laws in place to get someone out of office that can’t prove where he is from and he is just making HUGE decisions because HE FEEL LIKE IT? LIKE GARY M. Now I’m going to say some truth about Gary’s next statement. Gary writes, WE HAVE MET THE ENEMY OF ALL WE HOLD DEAR. HE LIVES AMONG US. I am not a Bible scholar, but I do study God’s word some, sorry to say not as much as I should. God’s word IS the ONLY ABSOLUTE RELIABLE TRUTH that there is. Having great concern for every person that is reading this, I strongly suggest that you start studing the Bible, God’s Holy word NOW!!! In the end everyone will know Who God is and how important it was to get to know Him, and put your trust in Him when you had the chance. I’m not going to make a long sermon out of this but you really have nothing to lose by reading on for a minute or two, please, so I can make a couple of points. I have heard it said when talking about believers in God and non-believers, the following: The believer says to the non-believer, if you are right and there is no God, what have I lost, BUT if I am right and there is a God, WHAT HAVE YOU LOST! That’s point one!!! The second point is that if we don’t get ourselves (this country) back as one nation under God this county is going down, going away, gone. In my studies of the Old Testament, time after time Israel would fall away from God, and start worshiping other gods, man made gods. EVERY TIME they pulled away, God tried to warn them, but when they ignored Him, He would stand back and let them do as they pleased, then other countries would come in and take them over, make them slaves, kill many of them and so on. This happened time after time, BUT when Israel would come back to God, cry out to Him, and worship Him only, God was with them and when they went to war against STRONG HUGE NATIONS, where all odds where against them, Israel would have the victory everytime that God was with them. If anyone questions this all you need to do is check history to the Bible. Now I ask how do you think America won a war against a powerful military like England’s? Do you think maybe God was with America? Were the Americans a Christian people? In the book of Revelations in the Bible, it tells about the end of times as we know it. Almost every single prophocey has been fulfilled that has to take place before Jesus’ return to earth, BUT only God knows when that time will be. We are seeing the famines, natural disasters, wars and rumor of wars that are listed in the Bible as the signs that we will see just before Jesus’ return. Bible scholars also say there is no mention of the United States as a power as far as countries go in the end of time. It sure looks like it could be getting close doesn’t it? God used the times when Israel was in exile to try to bring them back to Himself. Maybe God is trying to wake us up! Eric got it right when he ask, “WHAT IN THE HELL IS GOING ON?” HELL is precisely what is going on!!! I pray that WE THE PEOPLE PUT HELL BACK IN IT’S PLACE FOR NOW BY BECOMING THAT ONE NATION UNDER GOD AGAIN!!! We’ve been to complacent!!! When the ACLU and others try to get rid of the cross, we say NO! When they say you can’t pray in Jesus name, we say, YES I CAN! No prayer in public schools, we’ll just do it and teach them how to pray too!!! Take down the Ten Comandments, add super glue! Jesus is peaceful, but strong, not a push over. We need to try to be like Jesus. Please let’s all join together and pray for our nation and our leaders to turn back to God. Pray that God guide our path. There is an email going around, and Christians are trying to get every Christian to pray at 9pm for l min., for the safety of the USA, the safety of our troops, the safety of our citizens, and the USA return to a Godly Nation. If every Christian in the USA will take that l min. and pray, the power of God would be stronger than anything we’ve ever seen in our times. Tell others about Jesus, the more that know Him as their Lord and Savior the more that will be in Heaven with us! Again Gary wrote, WE HAVE MET THE EMEMY OF ALL WE HOLD DEAR. HE LIVES AMONG US! The truth is there is a God and there is the devil, Satan. They both live among us. I wonder though how did so many Americans get duped? My only answer is that those who claim to be Christian are not Christian enough, committed enough to find out what God thinks about all this. If they did, they would have been able to discern in Obama’s speeches, the lies he was spewing.
All during his campaign, I kept saying to friends and family alike, “listen to his words.” Even now, it continues. He gave what was supposed to be a “memorial” to those who were shot in Arizona. Did you see the tapes? I hear tell, they were selling T-shirts and hot dogs!! And the roaring of the crowd on everything he said. Had he wanted to, Obama could have put a stop to it and said this is not the time for this. It is a time to reverence those who were shot/injured/killed. But according to the media, it was a wonderful speech, so inspiring American to return to gentleness.
Again, did you listen to his words? He went on and on about tolerance of others and needing to stop the hate speech . . . . and then ended it with against those who don’t believe as WE do. Excuse me, why didn’t he say don’t believe as others believe. That little word WE, put him along side liberal way of thinking, changing America . . .
Eric, Love your writings. I find them well said and not bloated with extra content as so many are.
I find the ‘what the hell is going on’ debate interesting: 2 years ago our hapless leader was voted a Noble Peace Prize. When asked to explain why, the committee simply said “a wave of peace swept over the world when he was elected” (or something to that effect). The man had not even been in office 2 months and the world felt ‘at peace’. Amazing now how that peace seems to be shattered: Libya, Bahrain, Yemon, Syria, Egypt, Tunisia, Cairo. All countries with strong Muslim ties. Where’s that wave of peace?
Gas at $4.00 a gallon … Where is the Outrage?
I took a trip over the weekend and couldn’t help noticing that at the community where we traveled to … gas had spiked during the last month to $3.59 a gallon for regular. It was higher than at home in Annapolis.
Wait a Minute!
Let’s go back in history four years during the Bush Administration … when the media posted daily news flashes that the price of regular gas was over $3.00 a gallon. Everyone was ouraged. They blamed Bush and his buddies in the Oil business and/or insinuated that the President had a special relationship with the Saudis. Well all of that turned out to be hog-wash. But did the liberal media retract the story or correct their error? Nope!
FOX wasn’t around to give it to us straight!
Candidate Hillary Clinton, then Senator Barrack Obama and a host of Democrats warned us if we didn’t vote for them that the bad, bad Republicans would continue to raise the price of oil. A vote for the Democrats would solve everything. They must think we are all morons. Democrats or any other American citizen has virtually no control over what the Oil Cartel in the Mideast will do … including setting the price of crude. But the blind voted for a candidate that promised better times … Ha!
Fast forward a few years … The Energy Policy of the current administration has led to the cost of oil to sky-rocket again. As gasoline at the pumps is almost at the $4.00 mark this month … have you heard anything about that from the media? Analyists and Oil speculators continue to raise the price of crude over the “fear” of the continuing crisis’ in the mideast. Have the press asked the President or the Department of Energy about why their failed energy strategy (or lack there of) has led to the spike in oil prices? Nope!
So Why Not?
I have a theory.
The media doesn’t want to connect the dots.

So what can we do?
We can utilize US resources (millions of gallon of natural gas and oil) to lower our foreign dependency on oil. We import 20 million barrels of oil a day. Experts have advised for decades that simply reducing the imports by 50% – producing 10 million barrels here in the US instead of importing crude, would help to reduce the demand and effectively lower the price … worldwide.
If it is that simple …Why don’t we start it today?
Because the current Administration and their energy/policy advisors haven’t listened to real oil experts.
They think they know better.
And the media will never tell you the truth.
Write your Congressman and Senator
Tell them to open the wells and start drilling … tomorrow!
If we don’t … the price of gas at the pump will be $6.00 a gallon by the end of 2012. If Saudi Arabia falls … get ready for a world-wide depression!

I going to post words that will be hated. I am sorry to inform you Americans that your nation is going into capivity. Why? Because you have rejected the commandments of God! YOU are the descendants of the Lost 10 Tribes of Israel (I do not mean the modern day Jews or the Tribe of Judah that calls itself Israel in Palestine). You see God said, “I will scatter you amonst the nations”, and “A cow knows its home, but Israel does not know!” You don’t even know who you are! Glenn Beck seems to understand it. The founding fathers said that America was, “God’s American Israel”. They knew it, and America called itself, “One nation under GOD”. There was never any other nation that God called his own but ISRAEL. You will not understand my words because you have been blinded by the ‘god of this world’ and have become UTTERLY CORRUPT, just as Mose said would happen in the LAST DAYS. America is lost because it has become an IMMORAL NATION, drunk with idolatry, and sins. The military and the federal government is its false god, and God said, “I will break the pride of your power”. What power? THE MILITARY! So God is going to destroy it, and OBAMA is part of the destruction! America has worshiped itself and its ability to chose its leaders, and as a result, we have Obama! In the last days it was written, “Men will be lovers of money, rather than lovers of God”, and that has come true in America and the world! Therefore the FINANCIAL SYSTEM must also be destroyed, as it too is an idol. You see, 911 was a sign that both the financial system (the world trade center), and the military (the pentagon), would be destroyed. WAKE UP AMERICA AND REPENT, REPENT, REPENT! We have racked up wrath from heaven for our sins agains the Eternal. Do you really think that God will let this generation pass, and not send punishment? I keep hearing politicians say we must stop the spending so that we won’t pass this debt onto our children and grandchildren. Unless you repent, you will all likewise perish, just as Jesus Chist said. How many million abortions have taken place in America? We have legalized MURDER, and then stand in judgement of Kaddafi, bombing his nation! AMERICA MUST BE PUNISHED for this behavior! It is over, as America did not repent after 911, but upped the anti and invaded both Afghanistan and Iraq, racking up even more fuel for a greater destruction. The “Time of Jacob’s Trouble” (ISRAEL, that’s you), is comming, a great time of trouble that will come on this people, just before the return of Christ. OPEN YOUR EYES, WE ARE LIVING IN THE LAST HOURS, and you cannot save this republic for God has appointed a time, and time is almost up.
Eric, I think your message is spot on. Keep up the good work. In the next 3 or 4 months we’ll know the names of the candidates who will be running in the next presidential election. And the more conservate ones will take up the issues that you have outlined and hammer away at them to the American people. Nattering about this administration is counter productive, but taking up the real issues and weighing them against what is currently in place is the only way we are going to win. And we must win this next election. Otherwise it could be a very bleak future for the people and our country! ~~
Glenn Beck is correct that far left activists and the Islamic radicals have united to create global chaos. The truth is hidden behind endless propaganda and it is difficult to know who to trust anymore. We need leadership with bold solutions and most politicians remain most concerned with getting reelected. We can only look to ourselves for leadership and spread the truth despite all the distractions and diversions. Our worst enemies are ignorance, apathy, and inaction.

The size of government is now a cancer that is critically killing off production, motivation and hope of America. Spending needs to be reduced by 50% immediately and all foreign aid must be stopped immediately. Yes, this will be a shock to they system. Government cancer is a serious disease.
I TOTALLY AGREE AND THESE ARE MY SENTIMENTS EXACTLY. WE HAD HIGH HOPES WHEN THE REPUBLICANS WON THE HOUSE IN NOV AND NOW ALL WE SEE IS POSTURING, LIP SERVICE AND BUSINESS A USUAL FROM THEM. Dear Eric: Please continue in the manner you are working and ignore all of the negative replies. You are a true patriot and have the support of other true patriots. Our tears that are shed for our beautiful country are tears that should be shed by all Americans. Please continue your emails so that ALL Americans will see the truth.
Eric, most of us love this country because of the pricipals it was founded on. The constitution, very limited goverment, God, and capitalism, which has up until now made us the most prosperous nation in the history of the world.
We have been witnessing the distruction of our Republic, by both houses of congress and now the White House as never before. The biggest question is what can we do about it other than “vote” the scoundrels out. It is sometimes to know for sure who they are.
Thanks to you and others like you, we are awaked to the problem. It is now time to organize a real plan to restore our Country back to the way our founding fathers designed it. Their are many of us who are willing to do what we can but we need direction from people who know how to organize us.

I am a Tea Party person and I feel precisely the same way as you do about our country and its challenges, but I also feel helpless and scared at the same time.
It is difficult to make logical decisions when everything is crumbling around us. A couple of things that are helping me are:

I’m encouraged by the awakening of this sleeping giant. I’m also afraid that our vigilance may weaken and falter as the public education system continues to indoctrinate subsequent generations in the manner, as I belatedly found out, occurred in my schooling. I am ashamed to have coasted for so long on the premise that government was a protective entity. I am awake now, and will never sleep in that manner again. Taxpayer funded public education needs to be abolished. While we are at work our children are being fed the lies that have torn this country down. Public education, necessarily administered by those who are forced to teach under politically correct government strictures, has had the effect of stunting the natural process of growth and questioning that leads to independent discovery of truth. I didn’t vote until I was nearly 30 years old. That was because I had no knowledge of the true nature of politics and the titanic influences it held over the well-being of the country. In effect we pay taxes to have our kids dumbed down so that they will be less resistant to paying an even heavier price in the future. What generation will be better equipped to overturn this situation? As bad as my education was, I am much more concerned with the current and accelerating idiocy being foisted on our youth. Good parenting is a necessity: but how many hours do you have with your kids, as opposed to their time at school?
Sorry for the tangent, but there are so many things wrong that could be put right if it weren’t for the overwhelming complacency that is injected by institutionalized education.
Crap. Just realized I meant to say, abolish the Department of Education. That would have been simpler.
Thank you Eric O. for your efforts. I’m in bankruptcy right now, but in 5 years or so I hope to have coin to contribute to your cause. I sincerely hope though, that our fortunes as a country have been restored and reinforced to the point that we can at least take a short nap. Oh hell, guess not now that we’ve seen what that can lead to:)

Impeaching Obamma is the only thing to do to stop the madness so where are the honorable Americans who have the power to begain the processs? they must be in the whitehouse bar drinking cool-aid posion served up by Obama and his insect followers. That’s right I said it! Insects!

I say amen to this idea. As a widower with 2 children to raise with a decent but modest single income, it has become increasingly apparent to me (especially at the grocery store) how dire things have become. There has not, I repeat, not, been a single visit to the grocer w/o me standing behind someone who’s cart is filled with more meat, processed food, and whatever than my cart which I carefully fill with precious and hopefully nutritious food. What I see is a high proportion of individuals using State issued food stamp cards to pay for food that would fill my fridge. What irks me is that i know i am paying for their food via my hard earned dollars. Why wouldn’t these folks vote for more of the same? I am also becoming increasingly aware of other programs to aid the “needy” many of whom are driving newer cars, sporting newer clothes, talking on expensive smart phones and need I go on?
I personally Think a tax revolt is near. I am not alone in feeling this way. Gov’t assistance was intended as a bridge over troubled waters, not a lifestyle nor a generational hand me down. But that is where we are headed. I cant believe I saw that Mr Ed guy, you know the horses mouth dude on MSNBC criticize Mark Arubio for the R Reagan Library Speech. That is the crux of the problem,… give me, give me, give me, not what can I do for my country and community? Geeez things will only get worse and and when the party ends, lookout.
